Microsoft Sidewinder Controllers Precision 2 joystickBugs 1. On bootup the system asks you to insert the Sidewinder Install CD even though the joystick is installed and working properly. SOLUTION 1: I press Ctrl-Alt-Delete once to open the "Close Program" dialogue, then close the application there. Annoying but not fatal. Solution 2: Go to C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp and move the program "SWStubset.exe" somewhere else. 2. In Enemy Engaged - Comanche vs Havoc the view scrolls continously upward. SOLUTION: None that I have been able to find. Apparently the sim doesn't support USB joysticks. Make sure your favourite game supports USB controllers. CORRECTION: Rick Knight from Official Database for Pilots reports "I just finished installing the new Saitek X36F Combo USB system and it runs excellent with Enemy Engaged.", so it appears the problem is more subtle than I suspected! |
