The old 'PCI bus' trick ....



I found this tip on the newsgroups.

The gist of it is this -

Even though you may
  • have your card plugged into the AGP slot
  • have AGP selected in the BIOS
... the card may still not use the AGP bus. You also need to have a motherboard driver installed which activates the AGP port.

The newsgroup poster - Will - had this problem in Windows 2000. I'm running Win 98SE and to my surprise I found the same situation.Check out the second line above - Bus type.
