Triple Head 2 Go

From http://www.matrox.com - 2006 - "an external box that harnesses your system's existing graphics solution (including SLI™) for rendering of all 2D, 3D and video, and adds multi-monitor support. "

Do I need a special brand of monitor?

" TripleHead2Go can be hooked up to any analog monitor, including flat panel monitors. To take full advantage of TripleHead2Go, we recommend you use three identical monitors (that is, monitors that support the same monitor settings such as display resolution and refresh rate)."

What is a TripleHead 'stretched mode'?

" A TripleHead stretched mode refers to a single Windows desktop that is set to a very wide resolution (ie. one in which it is much wider than it is tall). This Windows desktop is then 'stretched' across three physically separate monitors. Note that even though the word 'stretched' is used, there is no actual stretching of the image or pixel distortion. The Windows operating system draws every pixel as sharply as it would a 'normal' Windows desktop. The TripleHead2Go is capable of supporting the following 'TripleHead Stretched Mode' (all at up to millions of colors): "
  • 3840 x 1024 @60hz (triple 1280)
  • 3072 x 768 @75hz (triple 1024)
  • 2400 x 600 @60hz (triple 800)
  • 1920 x 480 @60hz (triple 640)
