Mech Warrior 4
Contents of the package

The manual looks like is is bound with gaffer tape and has coffee mug stains and a stamped warning "Do not take the manual on missions or where it may be captured by the enemy" - cool!

Manual cover from Mechwarrior 4

Content wise it has about 100 pages and basic descriptions of the game interface - not much is needed. The "hand written" comments on the weapon descriptions are a nice touch. All these cosmetic effects add to the immersion factor.

Tactics are pretty much glossed over - you'd best look on the web or in the strategy guides. One good thing about the Mech Universe is that after 17 plus years it is well supported and there is plenty of info available on how to use your Mech. Check out MechCommander for some tips.

The key reference is short - there aren't that many keys to learn and with my Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 and it's programmable buttons plus the Sidewinder Strategic Commander I was fully command-capable in a few minutes!

Mechwarrior 4 keycard - NOTE - PLEASE don't email me and ask for a copy of the keystrokes!

When I say I was "command-capable" I mean in terms of operating the Mech - as far as winning battles that's another story altogether!
