MiGMan's recipe for a cheap, quick and effective squad:

Take 10 light infantry @ $120 each = $1200

GDI Light Infantry GDI Light Infantry GDI Light Infantry GDI Light Infantry GDI Light Infantry - built in 2 groups of 5
GDI Light Infantry GDI Light Infantry GDI Light Infantry GDI Light Infantry GDI Light Infantry

Add 3 Disc throwers @ $200 = $ 600

GDI Disc Thrower GDI Disc Thrower GDI Disc Thrower

and a Medic @ $600

GDI medic

Total = $2400.

Now you have a team that is -
1 - quick to build
2 - can take out most enemy armour units very quickly
3 - can cover most terrain at a medium pace
4 - is largely self repairing

How's that for delivering "bang for the buck!" !

On the downside, the squad is very vulnerable to flame units........

.... OK, and gas.....

... although they can run from the gas!
