I hadn't seen this one, and some 38 years on it holds up pretty well. For a start I was shocked to see Bond get a dressing down from his boss, "M", for continuing to carry his Walther PPK. This wasn't the shock though, the shock was "M" mentioning in passing that Bond had spent 6 months in hospital due to an incident where his gun had jammed.

A fallible Bond! Six months in hospital!

Quite a different concept to the super-Bond we saw in the 70's. He's all business too, with a few glib remarks but a lot of rough and tumble too.
