What's New?
June 30th 2001 MiGMan's European Adventure.
All the past "What's New" bulletins are archived and you can read them via the News Archives page. Hopefully I'll bring back a flying story or 2, see you in August! MiGMan Birds of Prey1991 saw the release of an ambitious survey combat flight sim from Argonaut and Electronic Arts. I was still using the Atari ST at the time and I used to drool over the artwork on the box and envy my PC-owning friends ! - Birds of PreySecret StealthThe cover art showed a sleek, curved aircraft which represented the "best guesses" by the aerospace industry at the time. Bear in mind that the F-117 was flying in secrecy for about 10 years before the general public got a look at it! Quite a remarkable achievment.Playing this sim on my Atari ST prompted me to get back into scale modelling, so I went out and bought a 1/72 scale F-117 model, which although more accurate in general shape than the F19 guesses still wasn't quite right, being too short and stubby. - F-19 Stealth Fighter Sega StealthSega Genesis? Well the museum is about completeness, and with the X-box coming out we will probably see a few light sims for that platfirm. I certainly hope so anyway - F-117 Nightstorm Stealth FighterMarine Air CombatJoe Weber is an ex Marine pilot writes exciting Air Combat Fiction. In June 2001 Joe wrote me :"It has been a busy spring for me. "Dancing with the Dragon". (the sequel to Primary Target) is finished -- edits and all. In keeping with my writing style, it is an action-packed, fact-based technothriller about a confrontation with China. My publisher plans to release it in hardcover early next year, (probably in March). Meanwhile, I'm working on the next manuscript ! " Email MiGMan with your experiences or any information related to this sim. Page last edited January 2008 |
