In 2001 I installed the CD version on my
Celeron-466.
I could hear the soundtrack - a reasonably hi-fi classical score - but the images were whizzing by at escape velocity. I briefly glimpsed John F. Kennedy - a moon landing shot and a couple of menu screens. Such is the fate of DOS sims in the 21st century!
However there is now good news for those who want to refly the Cold War Space Race.
