F-15 Strike Eagle II Commodore Amiga version " I think that Microprose let the side down with this one. Flying this felt no different to flying F-19 - only that it was like playing F-19 on accelerated time continuously. The manual was word for word identical to the one in F-19, except the little F-19 pictures had been replaced with F-15s in the diagrams explaining how to avoid a missile. The campaigns were identical to F-19. The aircraft systems were identical to F-19. Sadly the gameplay wasn't. As far as the Amiga was concerned, I thought it was just awful. I looked forward to taking on the world in this awesome machine, but came away bitterly disappointed. And you only had Mavericks, Sidewinders, AMRAAMs & the 20mm gun to smash the enemy with. I don't think I even bothered to complete ten missions before retiring it to it's box, never to be opened again. " MiGMan thanks Rob "Bomber" Henderson for these recollections. |
