FLY ! Editing FLY! Scenery Chino reported: For those who might want to create non-USA scenery for Fly! this could help: FLY! Editor for Dummies - it has some links to non-USGS sources of ground imagery and elevation data and how to import this into Fly! without using TerraScene (TS is essentially a front end to Fly's editor, for gathering and displaying the various data and assuring that it all fits together and achieves complete coverage -- it also grabs "line" data which is roads, rails, maybe shorelines and stitches that into the imagery, which makes it more accurate -- since all that data is available from USGS for the USA, might as well use it - actually the USGS data that TS uses isn't really imagery per se but rather land-use data by position, so if you use actual aerial/satellite imagery, you don't need to stitch in the roads etc, they are already there). I will capture some screen shots of my simulated real-life flight(s) around Worcester and send them along. I really want to grab the data for the practice area west of ORH, out over the Quabbin Reservoir, which looks something like this - SEE PICTURE AT RIGHT |
