" The Cessna Skylane RG (retractable gear) appeared in the late 1970s.

It evolved from the Model 172, better known today as the Skyhawk. Cessna built more than 2,000 Skylane RGs before production ended in 1987, making the Skylane and its siblings some of the most widely produced airplanes in history.

The Skylane RG features a retractable, tricycle-style landing gear and a constant speed propeller. It remains a popular personal and training aircraft. "
