The Virtual Cockpit integrated seamlessly with the static, instrument views, of which there were two - upper and lower panel. Merely by moving the hat switch you were taken to VCP mode.

A-10 has a one of the nicest analogue cockpits seen to 1996. All the buttons work and can be operated with the mouse.... this feature certainly speeds up the learning curve.

There's a host of dials - and they all work! This animation shows the first few seconds after engine start. The APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) kicks in. Engine RPM picks up, the APU cuts out and then I advance the throttle.

The flaps have 3 stages:
10, 20 and 30 degrees.
