Albatros D.V.

" At the peak of their production in May 1918, over 1,000 DVs and DVas were in service on the Western Front, in Italy and Palestine. Their use in such large numbers was an attempt to overcome the enemy by quantity rather than capability

They suffered heavy losses, not only from the enemy, but also as a result of structural failure of the lower wing.

This is an Albatros D.Va of Jasta 5, Imperial German Military Aviation Service, early 1918. "
