The dogfighting was pretty annoying with enemy planes circling at high speed. Wim Libaers developed an unorthodox but effective method of shooting down the bogies:

" If you want to kill the bandits, and you don't have missiles anymore, fly straight and wait until they intercept you. When their dot overlaps your dot on the radar, press the gun trigger and usually they'll fly right into the bullet stream! Sometimes, however, they will shoot you before flying past, but it usually works fine. Keep the flares ready."
