If you choose the realistic flight model, be prepared for some serious practice time. Engine torque is modelled so the aircraft swing to one side as you open the throttle. If you don't use back pressure on the stick as you apply the wheel brakes.... this may happen:

Once in the air you need to pay attention to stalls, spins, overspeed, engine overtemp.... not to mention those guys shooting at you. According to some accounts about 5 % of pilots lost in WW2 met their fate in non - combat incidents. (Mainly accidents during take-off and landing). Luckliy the sim allows you to fine - tune your joystick responses in Pitch, Roll and Yaw. This is a great feature I'd like to see in all flight sims.

Warbirds already has a large online following and this release can only swell the ranks.
