CHARACTERISTICS:

STRONG STRUCTURE WITH A PRIMITIVE SKIN: Wing and fuselage aft of cabin are fabric over a wire-stiffened tubular metal framework. Old-fashioned construction dissipates damage from exploding cannon rounds and makes for easy repair.

MERLIN ENGINE: Rolls-Royce Merlin V-12 provides plenty of horsepower, but liquid cooling system makes it more vulnerable than air-cooled engines. Beware of engine seizure if your cooling system is hit.

FOUR 20mm CANNON: Lethal under 300 yards, the Hispano 20mm cannon provides a vicious punch.

LANDING GEAR: Sturdy, inward-folding landing gear helps novices survive hard landings.
