Flying with Track IR means you get to see all the details. Your situational awareness improves, flying is a whole lot easier because your head (view) is not fixed rigidly into one position.

By the way, the implementation of Track IR in this sim is by far the best I've seen. Not once did I have to calibrate the unit and it was incredibly tolerant of where and how I sat.

This is streets ahead of the implementation in Lock On Modern Air Combat and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.
