Vickers Wellington Mk.1C

" Built in 1936 the first prototype was unveiled at the 1936 Hendon airshow with nose and tail covered to prevent people seeing the top secret structural design.

The MK1c production was to total 2,685 airframes and this mark introduced the beam guns for the first time. Mk1s were originally used during daylight raids but their relatively low altitude and low speed meant losses were high and were reallocated to night bombing. "
