MiGMan's Missions
Successful repetition breeds success. That's a fundamental guiding principle in training for any complex activity - including flying your simulated jet fighter! These missions are relatively simple. Variables are kept to a minimum and introduced one at a time. That means you'll have fun and be able to keep on top of things while getting the satisfaction that comes from sharpening your skills. Pick a training area - North - South - East or West and start flying! After a dozen missions in one area you'll start to know the terrain "like the back of your hand". Station keeping - how accurately do you maintain HEADING - ALTITUDE - SPEED ? Good military pilots are extremely accurate in this regard. At the speed the MiG and Su-27 move along you'l find you need to work at it to keep up a regular scan. Time on Target - Watch your TOT - there are other flights using the same range and this is a skill you'll need when the "real" war starts. Safety - don't crash into the ground (most common) or other aircraft (less likely but it happens!). So keep a sharp lookout! The weather in this region often make's life difficult with lots of fog and low cloud. Low Level Flight - you'll have the opportunity to gain confidence at low level flight by repeatedly flying the same routes and getting used to "reading the terrain". Instrument Flying - Quite often you'll have to ascend and descend through what Londoner's call "Pea Soup" - fog so thick you can eat it! You'll learn to trust those dials. Landing - Every successful mission ends with a landing! Download the missions - 98K zip file |
