A6M2 (Model 21) REISEN (Type Zero Fighter) PROCEDURES

BEFORE LANDING-ON FIELD

Fuel Selector -- BEST
Landing Gear -- DOWN (below 135 kts)
Arresting Hook -- UP
Cowl Flaps -- OPEN
Mixture -- RICH
Propeller -- HIGH rpm

LANDING-ON FIELD

Airspeed -- 75 KIAS (flaps DOWN)
Flaps -- 30 degrees (below 115 kts)
Trim -- NOSE DOWN with full flaps
Touchdown -- Main wheels first or 3-point
Landing Roll -- LOWER tail wheel gently
Braking -- MINIMUM REQUIRED


AFTER LANDING

Flaps -- UP
Cowl Flaps -- OPEN
