B-52 Stratofortress
Produced from 1955 to 1962, the B-52 was conceived as a stand-off nuclear launch platform and has seen action delivering conventional munitions from high altitude - essentially in the same manner as World War 2 bombers. INTERESTING FACTOID: The last model B-52 - the H model - was designed specifically for low level strike. |
