Touted as the 21st century replacement for the F-15, the F-22 is an expensive aircraft which justifies it's expense by promising "forst look - first shot" capability.

INTERESTING FACTOID:
The F22 is capable of "supercruise" which means travelling faster than the speed of sound without use of afterburners.
