F/A-18 Hornet
The F/A-18 was developed as a replacement for the F-4 Phantom, the A-6 Intruder and the A-7 Corsair. Note that the first two of those aircraft were two-seaters and the single seat F/A-18 used a "glass cockpit" concept to enable a single pilot to fulfil the same mission roles.
