B-24 links on the web

There are many resources on the internet related to the B-24 and its role in WWII. These are just a few that I found useful or interesting. - Chino

The late Jeff Ethell flew and reported on many types of aircraft -- this is his "pirep" on the B-17.

HeavyBombers.com is the place to start if you are researching heavy bombers (mainly B-17, B-24, B-29) and their crews in WWII.

B-24 Best Web has thousands of pictures of specific B-24’s by name, as well as many resources for people interested in the B-24 and those who flew her.

The Internet B-24 Veterans Group is another place to look for crew information (check out their web board).

Joe Baugher’s Encyclopedia of American Military Aircraft has detailed information on virtually every U.S. military aircraft, including the B-24.

Bob Steven's B-24 cartoons

The Collings Foundation has one of only two flyable B-24's in the world, as well as a B-17 -- both aircraft are flown around the USA for air shows and fund-raising rides.

B-24 at the RAAF website

The USAF Museum in Dayton, Ohio is a great resource, worth a visit both on-line and to the real museum, where a B-24 is on display.

Howling Banshee - the personal story of a WW II B-24 Pilot.
Arnold A. Piskin flew the B-24 in Europe rather than the Pacific, but this is a very detailed and interesting site, created by his daughter, Brenda Piskin.

Microprose’s 1998 flight sim European Air War flight sim was used to illustrate 'Cookie' in action (note that you can’t fly the B-24 in this sim, but you can set up fighter escort missions with bombers). European Air War is a great flight sim, and there are many free add-ons created by users to enhance it. I used Pacific terrain files and a Japanese Zero model, and I modified the side art to create 'Cookie' and 'Big Chief' from the 90th BG. I found these and various European Air War utilities on Cord’s EAW Page, an excellent site.
