Sydney Olympics 2000 Speaking Australian Aussie = Australian Bondi Lifesavers = Volunteer Lifeguards who patrol Bondi Beach in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. Bondi is a popular beach and the decision to erect a Beach Volleyball stadium on it for the Olympics was met with howls of protest by the locals. When the games started however the Aussies found this sport quite to their liking! By the way every Australian child spends their weekends building sandcastles and body surfing. Budgie = Budgerigar.
