Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Originally produced as a feature film, the concept really came to life when it was commisioned for a 12 episode TV season. The show's fan base grew exponentially, using the new technology of the "internet" to spread the good word that this was a smart and sassy series which pushed all the right geek buttons.

The Master. first of the "big Bads".

After a reluctant start Buffy gathers a group of friends to help in the struggle, and to my mind the evolution of this group is like watching "The Avengers" (Marvel comic book series) come to life.

The second season was a full 22 episodes, and after 7 years of watching the characters grow and evolve the saga wound up on television. However the story hasn't finished. Season 8 continues in graphic novel format.
