The Incredible Hulk Returns - 1988
A sincere and warmhearted Hulk story written and directed by Bill Bixby and Nicholas Corea.
Of the 1980's hero series, The Incredible Hulk probably had the best acting and writing. Just don't expect the
wham bang pace and special effects of the 2000's.
It's a good film to watch with like minded friends. I lab tested the film on a 5 year old and a 9 year old. No adverse effects reported.
Graphic Synopsis:
David Banner returns, having worked incognito for 2 years at a bio genetics firm. In an effort to cure his Hulk problem he has
also found a limitless source of energy (the Gamma-Transponder).
Yes, remember it's David in the TV series, not Bruce Banner, which has a better ring to it in my opinion, and of course a couple
hundred issues of The Incredible Hulk had established it. Why they have to mess with these details I'll never know!
A very Jack Kirby-esque shot as Banner targets himself for a dose of gamma rays.
Isn't this a younger John Wesley Shipp, who later rose to fame as The Flash? Mmmm, maybe not.
The Gamma Transponder
Don Blake turns up, no longer a successful surgeon with a cane, but a former student of Banner's with a fascination
for Viking culture who discovers Thor's hammer Moljnir.
"This is the '80's... I don't know what a good cause is anymore!"
Thor returns, and he is thirsty! And clumsy.
This makes Banner angry. You - DON'T - want to make him angry.
They have a decent 1980's style superhero smackdown.
That's the first 30 minutes anyway. More green action ensues.
