Scott "Zuma" Wolf passes away: June 7th, 2008.

On June 21st 2008, I received the very sad news from Ed Bowser that Scott "Zuma" Wolf, a long-time friend of the Flight Sim community had passed away on
June 7th, 2008.

Here is the link to Scott's obituary guest book at the Chicago Tribune: Guest Book for Scott Michael Wolf.

Scott had been both encouraging and helpful to me, freely sharing of his critical opinions and his enthusiasm for the flight sim genre.

" TotalWarfare.com and Gunfighters.net are down due to people on AD, wounded and Russian Hackers using our site as a mirrors, while we were away.

We have had 3 Staff members wounded and lost 3 Staff members from TotalWarfare.com, since the War on Terror started. Now we have lost Zuma, a true friend, aviator and flight simulation enthusiast.

We will miss his knowledge and eye for details.

Did you know that he flew in a US Army Comanche Attack Helo, at Ft Rucker, while working for PCGamer Magazine? He was also a Captain in the US Air Force Auxiliary.

I will send some more photos of him at Rucker and Air Combat Flight School, when I find them. He was a great friend and always had a sense of humor that made me blow hot coffee out of my nose on several occassions! I now drink iced coffee! ;-D

Said Scott:

" A couple of cool aviation sites you should note: http://speedandangels.com and http://thevirtualblueangels.com - old link, you'll be redirected, but the picture is nice.

The Virtual Blues fly in Lock On Flaming Cliffs 1.1, which blows my mind because I'm still repairing the damage that the nefarious StarForce copy protection on the Flaming Cliffs CD did to my system. They either don't have virtual CD or DVD playing software installed or they're willing to put up with the insidious system damage to fly in the otherwise beautiful sim. I'll stick with Lock On Modern Air Combat 1.01.

Re StarForce copy protection - PowerDVD 5 and 6 WILL NOT work any more. I had to get PowerDVD version 7 to get DVD capability again. StarForce on the King Kong game disc necessitated a new optical drive and reformatting my whole system. "

All are based on basic skins and standard markings by other people (MAC 4.0 mostly). I just modified them for squads that weren't available otherwise."
