Jagdverband 44 - Screaming Eagles

Jagdverband 44 - Screaming Eagles was developed by Hammer Technologies and published in 1999.

From the official website (which is gone as of 2009):

" Once again, the team of Hammer Technologies has developed a graphic engine that incorporates all the technical characteristics of the most ambitious 3D engines of the moment, with which they have been able to reproduce a real replica of a total of 17 warlike air apparatuses.

This 3D engine has the capacity to manage scenarios of more than 20.000 polygons, power to displace simultaneously a high number of airplanes with more than 600 polygons each one, effects of illumination and shady, filters in the application of textures and graphic effects, like fog or the sun pearls, highlighting the great beauty of the dawns and dusks.

The great realism obtained is based on the exceptional finish of the airplanes, the real sensation of flight with the movement of the helixes and on the controls together, with the pilot's booth, and its wide visualization from inside and outside of the apparatus. It has an adjustable external camera and another inside the booth and in the points of aim of the machine guns. To all of this, we have to add the ammunition and fuel limitation, giving the flight a more truthful aspect.

Uniting all these ingredients we have made an awesome air combat simulator, with strategic and arcade tints, where the player will be wrapped in the same warlike atmosphere of the time, thinking and acting as an authentic and heroic pilot of the Second World War. "
