Flight Simulator X Key Features

Living World

The Flight Simulator world is more alive than ever, with air traffic, vehicles on busy roads and highways, leisure boats, and freighters and cruise ships in shipping lanes. Airports in Flight Simulator X bustle with baggage carts, fuel trucks, and other airport vehicles. Taxi into a gate and the jetway swings over to disembark your passengers.

We use real-world digital elevation models (DEM) to create mountains and valleys. We lay roads and rivers using real-world vector data. Our autogen (auto-generated scenery feature) insures that trees and vegetation are correct for the area and land class you're flying over. The world you see in Flight Simulator X looks more than ever like the world you see out your window.

Shared Skies

Flight Simulator X has greatly enhanced multiplayer capabilities. Pilots flying in both Standard and Deluxe versions can talk to other players acting as air traffic controllers. Players can share their aircraft with over a LAN or the Internet, providing an ideal training situation or a way to show their favorite part of the Flight Simulator world to a friend or relative. Flight Simulator X Deluxe owners can use the Tower Controller feature to guide pilots through busy sky lanes.

Missions

With dozens of missions to choose from, aviators can build their skill levels, and engage in even more challenging and fun game play than ever before. Flight Simulator X comes with missions that will grip you with excitement, push your skills to the limit, or make you laugh. Collect rewards and trophies for completing missions and then replay the missions using different aircraft. The Deluxe version contains additional missions.

You can choose Missions by interest or skill level. Tutorial missions are just what you'd think: a way to get started and learn both flying and Flight Simulator X. Challenges have some unusual and amusing tests of skill. Airline Pilot missions put you in the captain's seat, while Backcountry and Emergency take you to the far corners of the world and let you save the day.
