EF 2000

Comments: EF 2000 first saw the light of day (a gloomy Scandinavian day at that! ) in 1995. It's roots lay in F-29 Retaliator and TFX but it went much, much further, breaking new ground in combat flight fidelity.

EF2000 was released in probably more versions than any other sim.

EF2000 : The original DOS version 1.0.

EF2000 v2.02 : The first free patch for version 1.0.

EF2000 v2.04 : Shortly after v2.02, this free patch came out and was the standard for a long time.

TACTCOM :A commercial upgrade for the original DOS version. This incorporated the 2.04 patch, alongside a number of other enhancements.

EF2000 Evolution : This is the EF2000 DOS version as well as the TACTCOM upgrade, in one package.

EF2000 Wireplay : A version of EF2000 which could be played only on BT's Wireplay gaming network.

Super EF2000 : This is EF2000 rewritten to run under Windows '95. It is the same as the DOS version with the TACTCOM upgrade installed, but it only runs in '95. It has the added ability to use TCP/IP in multiplayer mode. Super EF2000 has online help with great tips and tactical advice.

Graphics + (G+) : This is a free patch which enhances the graphics of EF2000 for two 3D chipsets: Verite or Voodoo. This can be only installed on EF2000 with the TACTCOM upgrade applied (or EF2000 Evolution).
