The Advertising Artwork is a bit ambiguous - does it show a MiG-29 or an Su-27 Flanker? They are both similar from certain angles.

" ... it does look kinda 'flankery', indeed. But the wing is probably Fulcrum. Engine placement is Su-27, though, so are the elevators. Vertical stabalisers could be either, canopy also. They may have used one of the early model kits, there were some that were mislabeled at the time if I recall..."
" ... it's a fulcrum. why? look at the elevation of of the from the cockpit down to the wing level. the fulcrum has that thing and the flanker's is much sharper."

" It cannot be a Flanker as it lacks the two vertical surfaces on the bottom side (just below the vertical tails). Also, Flanker has antiflutter devices (that serve as missile racks as well) on the wingtips, which aren't present in the shot. Also, the blending of the fuselage with the Lerx extensions and the camber of the vertical tails suggest the MiG-29. What is between the engines looks like a fuel tank to me. I'm not sure if the real MiG can carry that, but I'm not sure many people did at the time the sim came out. The cockpit indeed blends much differently with the fuselage on the MiG than it does with the Sukhoi, there is no 'Coke Bottle' kind of transition, and it's almost straight. That's another reason speaking in favour of the plane depicted actually being the MiG-29. I checked my 1/72 scale model and the silhouette from the front view does indeed look like the picture presented."

It appears to be a Fulcrum to me. The rudders on a Flanker are more vertical than a Fulcrum.
