Skirt the high altitude borders Andorra shares with France and Spain. You will need to climb to about 10,000 ft. Andorra lacks an airport so we take off from Aeroport La Seu d’Urgell at Catalonia, Spain, about 6 nm S of the border.
Most of the urban areas in Andorra are situated on the valley floors. Fly past the capital Andorra la Vella and return via broad valleys just over the border with Spain. Andorra lacks an airport, so we take off from the nearest which is La Seu d’Urgell LESU at Catalonia in Spain, just 6 nm S of the border. LESU is a spectacular airport in it's own right, being positioned on a plateau.
Cross the border into Turkey to have a close look at the biblical Mount Ararat which dominates the skyline in Yerevan. --/o\-- Temperature at the peak will be well below zero, so remember to turn on your anti-icing equipment. The peak is over 10,000 feet so you may need to bring an oxygen supply.
Follow the beltway in a counter-clockwise direction and complete a complete circle around Minsk.
--/o\-- The images here are all of the beltway, but of course the real action is taking place to your left, in Minsk. Once you are comfortable folowing the road you should be able to relax and enjoy the great views.
This is one of those flight plans that is MUCH easier to fly than it looks on paper, as we are basically following roads, and very prominent multi-laned roads at that. We are following a 6 land highway over the top of Brussels to the west, then south all the way down to the site of the Battle of Waterloo. Feel free to linger there, maybe land at a winery and enjoy the historical vibe. The return journey is simplicity itself as we fly directly north back to Brussels.
Recommended altitude: 500 feet
