Honeycomb Delta Screen launch at FS Expo 2023
The most exciting announcement at Flight Sim Expo Houston 2023 was Honeycomb's Delta Screens.
Features:
- Screens click together
- Air Manager software populates the screens with avionics from the aircraft you are flying
- Uses wi-fi to stream telemetry from the sim rather than windows based screen rendering
- Includes 'knobster', a rotary knob to adjust any of the instruments you touch
- Has a motion sensor, which was demonstrated showing a drop-down autopilot
This is going to bring in a lot of new customers to the hobby, including but not limited to those:
- who would probably never had gone to the effort of building their own pit.
- who want to have that experience across sim platforms
If it does the same for DCS then I will get back into that sim franchise after a 10 year plus absence.
Fighter jet configuration. Importing the HUD means the cockpit in the sim can be turned off, which is how I prefer to fly.
If it can display the radar and maps in DCS, that puts it leaps ahead of the only other option, WINWING MFD, which rely on the windows multiple monitor function with it's frame rate hits and tricky setup.
A fantastic hardware / software / simulation collaboration.
Exciting times for our hobby of Flight Simulation.
