These requests are oriented towards the construction of generic instruments (not full panels) which will suit:
Civil
Military
Prop
Jet
Single Engine
Multi Engine
Since the average user of Microsoft Flight Sim has between 20 and 80 aircraft in the hangar, the need for generic solutions becomes apparent. The premium version has 37 a/c types included.
Soviet-philes
For the many fans of the former Soviet arsenal, offering the generic instruments with surrounds in Soviet-cockpit-blue would effectively double Air Manager's generic instrument inventory as cockpit builders like to have a coherent colour scheme. It adds to immersion!
Antonov
Kamov
Mikoyan-Gurevich
Sukhoi
Tupelov
Yaklovev
etc etc
Soviet style control surface instrument
Soviet style control surface instrument combines Airbrakes/Spoiler, Flaps, Gear
ANGLE OF ATTACK INDICATOR / G meter
Dial | vertical scale | numeric
Unit: Radians
Up to 30 degrees would be good, as these higher incidences are used by aerobatic and fighter aircraft.
Soviet style combined AOA and G meter as used across the entire Soviet fleet.
It is critical for the pilot to know the status of the airbrake.
Airbrake on the MiG-29 extends both above and below the fuselage.
At the moment the only instrument suitable for military jets is the F-16 airbrake, a somewhat confusing instrument in my opinion.
Military airbrakes usually extend a surface into the airstream and typically below the fuselage. In fly-by-wire jets such as F/A-18, F-35, Su-57 etc the control surfaces are reconfigured by the computer to create drag.
REVERSE THRUST ENGAGED
In some aircraft this is mapped to the brake parachute. Believe it or not, despite the hundreds of SimVars... MS/Asobo have still missed quite a few common functions!
