The Peppin Merino Affair
Description
English sheep breeder George Peppin established a stud north of Deniliquin at Wanganella. He aimed to breed a variant which would thrive in Australia's dry conditions. A measure of his success is that about 70 per cent of Australia's merinos today are thought to be descendants of his flock!
