Publisher’s Description

The MiG-25PD is a single-seat, twin-engine, high-speed interceptor aircraft developed by the Soviet Union’s Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau. It is an advanced variant of the MiG-25 family, featuring improved avionics, a more powerful radar, and upgraded engines for better performance. First introduced in 1979, the MiG-25PD was primarily designed for high-altitude interception of enemy aircraft, especially strategic bombers and reconnaissance planes, capable of reaching speeds over Mach 3.
The MiG-25PD was fitted with the advanced RP-25 Saphir radar and improved R-40 air-to-air missiles, making it more effective in tracking and engaging targets at long ranges. It also featured upgraded R-15BD-300 engines, which allowed it to climb to altitudes of over 24,000 meters, while maintaining exceptional speed and agility. The MiG-25PD remained in service for many years as a critical part of Soviet and later Russian air defense systems, known for its extreme speed and altitude capabilities.
The aircraft measured 64 feet in length with a wingspan of 46 feet. It could reach a top speed of 2,170 mph and had a service ceiling of 80,000 feet, making it one of the fastest and highest-flying aircraft ever produced.
