Zippy Sport

The Zippy Sport is a single-seat, high-wing monoplane powered by a VW engine. Of mixed construction, it has a welded 4130 steel fuselage and wooden wings covered with doped aircraft fabric covering and fixed conventional landing gear. The wings are designed to be folded for storage or ground transport. The aircraft is available in the form of plans for amateur construction.

The Zippy Sport is a plan-built single-engine, single-seat airplane designed by aircraft manufacturer Green Sky of the United States. The Zippy Sport took its first flight in 1986 and was introduced that same year.

The distinctive-looking Zippy Sport features a high main wing with a span of 26 feet, 4 inches, a traditional tail unit, and a standard undercarriage. Its fuselage is constructed of steel and has wood-framed, fabric-covered wings that can be folded for storage. It is powered by a Rotax 503 piston engine that delivers up to 50 horsepower to a 2- or 3-blade fixed-pitch propeller. It cruises at 100 mph, has a top speed of 120, and has a stall speed of 40. It has a range of 300 miles and climbs at a rate of 700 feet per minute.
