A typical missile launch has a flaming trail with persistent clouds of smoke.
It's really quite awesome to see an Ataka Air-to-Ground missile fly 4 kilometres ... and it looks like 4 kilometres... and then, as it almost disappears form sight, see the blooming cloud as a fuel tanker goes up.
Explosions occur in stages, here you can see the main fireball at centre and the semi-transparent shock wave accompanied by debris surrounding it. Lower in the picture is the hapless Chinook which was the victim of an Ikra launch.
