The program was entirely written in Spectrum's BASIC, but it looks wonderful despite Sinclair's poor graphic abilities. It was considered a "serious" game, compared with the ZX hits of that time. Not suprisingly, the gameplay was really slow, but there were plenty of nifty indicators and buttons to look at, requiring all your attention.

The concept of the blood chit originated in China during the early days of World War II. It was created by members of General Chennault's American Volunteer Group: the Flying Tigers. The famed pilots wore Chinese and American flags, and a message in Chinese characters.

My absolute 'first sim' was Intercepteur Cobalt for ZX Spectrum. I had a 16Kb Speccy by then, so I was only allowed to load the 'Pilot's Test' and the 'Take Off' module. IC just had instrumental flight, and for a good reason: it was written entirely in BASIC, with no graphics.

This is the only Flight-Sim poker card deck in the world AFAIK. It is created for Orphalese Tarot, a Windows software created by my old friend Richard Jefferies. I use to design virtual decks for him, and I didn't wanted to miss the chance for this one.
