Pilots raved about its cockpit visibility, range, speed, and reliability."

AboutHeavies are not my cup of tea and so I can't give this a rating. Judging by the stats in the marketplace it seems to be very popular. I bought it to have a poke around what must be one of the largest aircraft ever built, and I did take it on one flight from Richmond Military to Jervis Bay. My landing (!?!) was horrible and only served to increase my respect for those that can handle the enormous momentum of these beasts. My hat is off to you gentlemen!

About" "Gunslinger," Race Number 66, rolled out of the assembly line on December 24, 1941 as an AT-6A Harvard II, then served the Royal Canadian Air Force until 1962, when it arrived in the United States. After changing hands a number of times, it began its Reno career as Race 66, Gunslinger, in 2008, finishing 3rd in the Bronze Race, clocking an average speed of 211.840 miles per hour. Gunslinger has since racked up an impressive record around the pylons at Stead. In 2010, Gunslinger qualified in 4th place, clocking 227.805 mph, then competed in the Gold Race. In 2016 it finished 1st in the Silver Race with a speed of 221.387 miles per hour, and it took 4th in 2019 in the Gold Race with a speed of 229.714 mph. In 2021, Gunslinger finished 4th in the T-6 Gold race, averaging a speed of 221.885 miles per hour."

About" "Baron’s Revenge," Race Number 14, was constructed as an AT-6B-NT in Dallas, Texas by North American Aviation in 1941. The airframe served as a trainer in the United States Army Air Forces throughout World War II and was then sold to a private owner in 1946. The T-6 first raced at Reno in 1983, immediately establishing itself as a dominant force by winning 1st place in the Championship Race with an average speed of 225.94 miles per hour. In 2016, Baron’s Revenge finished 1st in the Gold Race with a speed of 231.193 mph, and finished 1st again in 2019, clocking an impressive 235.081 miles per hour. In 2021, Baron’s Revenge again took 1st in Gold, with a roaring speed of 234.862 miles per hour."

About"The airframe that would become “Eros," Race Number 69, was built as an AT-6D-NT by North American Aviation at their Dallas, Texas factory in 1942 and served the U.S. Army Air Forces. The airplane first raced as #69, Eros at Reno in 2005, and has participated every year since. During this tenure, Eros has qualified for the Bronze Race 14 times. In 2016 the airplane finished in 2nd place with a speed of 192.701 miles per hour. Eros finished 2nd again in 2018, with an average speed of 193.738 mph."

About"The DHC-4 Caribou is a twin-engine, short takeoff and landing (STOL) cargo aircraft produced by aerospace manufacturer de Havilland Canada. The Caribou was developed as a military cargo and troop carrier, and was conceptually based on the STOL performance of the smaller de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver and DHC-3 Otter, but with greater cargo capacity. The design is one of the most capable aircraft for austere and bush flying ever created."

About Has to he hands down the best view out of the cockpit short of flying a gyrocopter, which has no protection from the elements. Plus, this plane is a veritable head-turner!

AboutThis aircraft is a pure delight to fly. Uncomplicated - yet cool looking - with great visibility and handling. The sounds are great, the cockpit a pleasure to look at and landing feels smooth all the way to touchdown. A winner, and I hope to see more from this developer.

The team at India FoxTecho go above and beyond with their product support. In 2024 their F-35 for MSFS 2020 was still receiving upgrades, revealing their passion for the project.

AboutA nice first sortie, but the external model and resolution of the liveries isn't up to what MSFS 2020 customers have come to expect. The first thing I do on a new aircraft is set up the GoPro cameras because who doesn't enjoy those takeoff and landing videos aimed at the undercarriage? If the developer can improve the u/c, turkey feathers and textures then we are talking! I'm sure a lot of work has gone into it but at the time of release it's not in the MSFS2020 ballpark.

Its clipped wings and other modifications give this beauty the capability to really perform around the pylons. In 2018 Goldfinger, which has a distinctive look of polished aluminum and gold, clocked a speed of 356.131 miles per hour at Reno, and can fly even faster, up to 400 mph on an all-out straight-and-level run. In 2021, Goldfinger finished 4th in the Unlimited Gold race, with an average speed of 345.446 miles per hour."

About"The airframe that would become Voodoo came into the world in 1944 at North American Aviation’s Inglewood, California factory and was dispatched to the United States Army Air Forces, and from there went on to serve the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Mustang IV. A number of owners and a fatal crash ensued, the rebuild after the tragedy bringing the airframe to life as a racer in the 1980s. It first raced at Reno as #5, Voodoo, in 1998 where it finished in 1st place in the Unlimited Silver race with an average speed of 427.889 miles per hour. On September 2, 2017, pilot Steve Hinton, Jr. set a new 3-kilometer “absolute propeller driven piston-powered aircraft" record in Voodoo with a speed of 531.53 miles per hour over four consecutive passes. That’s .7 Mach – extraordinarily fast for a piston aircraft."

About"Built by North American Aviation in their Inglewood, California factory in 1944 as a P-51D-25-NA, the airframe that would become Wee Willy II first served the United States as part of the Army Air Forces and was then transferred to the Indonesian Air Force. The airframe was restored in 1984 using part from a number of other P-51s, and has used the same paint scheme since 1985. In 2017, Wee Willy II took first place in the Unlimited Silver race with an average speed of 337.310 miles per hour, and in 2021 it placed 3rd in the Unlimited Silver race with a speed of 312.841 mph."

About" "American Spirit," Race Number 5, is an L-39C that came into existence in 1977 and was transferred to the United States in the 1990s. Named and painted to commemorate the United States in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, American Spirit’s lineage as a contender at Reno dates back to the earliest days of the Jet class. In 2002, in the very first Gold race in the Jet Class, American Spirit took 1st place, with an average speed of 456.540. It has raced at Reno in every year since, with the exception of 2005, and took first place in the Gold Race in 2004, 2012, 2016, 2017, and 2018. American Spirit has achieved such a great run due in great part to its extreme modifications. Over the years, a number of aerodynamic and weight saving upgrades have been made, ones that will likely see American Spirit be a dominant force at Reno for years to come."

About" "Athena," race number 1, first saw use as part of the Ukrainian Air Force. Brought to the United States in 2004, the jet subsequently underwent a number of modifications, including those for flight performance and speed. The jet, painted white and red, first raced in Reno in 2018, where it qualified for the Gold race and finished 6th with an average speed of 428.753 miles per hour. Athena raced in the Silver race and the Gold race in 2019, finishing first in Silver with an average speed of 436.522 miles per hour, and 5th in Gold, clocking 428.593 mph."

About" "Blue Ice," race number 19, is an L-39C that was built in 1974 and served as a trainer for the Ukrainian Air Force until the late 1990s. Transferred to the United States in 2001, the aircraft was placed in storage and then underwent a series of upgrades and modifications. The airframe first raced at Reno in 2014, under a different name and race number, and participated as Race 19 “Blue Ice" for the first time in 2018. The aircraft, which is painted distinctively in light blue with the Australian flag on its vertical stabilizer, finished in 3rd place in the Silver race in 2018 with an average speed of 417.755 miles per hour. In 2019, Blue Ice also competed in the Silver race, finishing 4th, clocking 417.213 mph, just a little more than a half second slower than 2018."

About" "Drop Bear," Race Number 69, is an L-39C that was fabricated in Czechoslovakia 1987. Moved to the United States in the 1990s, it made its racing debut as Race Number 69 in 2017. That year, the aircraft, modified to reduce weight, participated in the Silver Race, finishing 3rd with a speed of 426.296 miles per hour, and then the Gold, placing 7th with an average speed of 419.417 mph. In 2018 Drop Bear qualified for the Silver Race and took 1st with an average speed of 420.354 miles per hour. 2019 was another great year for Drop Bear, where, after more upgrades including weight savings and a glass panel, it placed 2nd in the Silver Race with a speed of 431.396 miles per hour and 6th in Gold, clocking 425.637 mph."

About" "Pipsqueak," race number 2, is an L-39C built in 1974, serial number 005, that served in the Czechoslovak Air Force and then the Czech Republic Air Force as a trainer before being transferred to private ownership in the United States in 2004. Over the years, Pipsqueak has undergone a number of improvements and modifications to squeeze out every bit of speed possible. Race Number 2 first competed at Reno in 2005, in the early days of the Jet Class. In 2005, Pipsqueak, which is painted a bright, visually-arresting red, finished in 1st place in all heats and then finished 1st place in the Gold Race, with an average speed of 454.194 miles per hour. Pipsqueak would dominate the Jet Class in 2006, and continue to be a powerful force in subsequent years at Reno. In 2008, Pipsqueak was upgraded with a Lotarev DV2 engine, which is much more powerful than the original powerplant."

About" "Robin I," race number 54, is an L-39C that came off the assembly line in 1978 and went into service as a military trainer for the Ukrainian Air Force. It was transferred to private ownership in the United States in the early 2000s, and then underwent a number of upgrades and improvements, taking on the name “Robin I" and Race Number 54. Robin I made its Reno debut in 2008 and has participated in almost every year since. It has qualified and participated in a number of Silver and Gold races over the years. In 2012 Robin I finished 3rd in the Silver Race with an average speed of 401.706 miles per hour, then finished in 1st place in Silver the next year, clocking 412.689 mph. The year after that, in 2014, Robin I again finished 1st in Silver, this time with an average speed of 426.437 miles per hour. In 2021, Robin I finished first in Silver, recording a blistering speed of 435.015 miles per hour."

About" "Sarance," race number 7, is an L-39C that was constructed in 1983 and came to the United States in 1999. The aircraft is authentic-looking with its camouflage paint scheme and wingtip tanks, which many racers remove for Reno. In 2012, Sarance’s first year at the races, it qualified for the Gold Race, finishing in 8th place with an average speed of 385.633 miles per hour. Its fastest clocked speed that year was 403.232 mph, set during the qualifying round. In the years that followed, Sarance proved itself to be a capable competitor, notably in 2014, when it placed 2nd in the Silver Race."

About" "Tumbling Goose," Race Number 84, is an L-39C built in November of 1984 and delivered to the Soviet Air Force in December of that year. It last flew as a military trainer on August 18th, 1999, serving the Ukrainian Air Force, and was exported to private ownership in the United States in the 2000s. It then underwent a comprehensive overhaul that included making considerable weigh saving modifications and the installation of state-of-the-art avionics. It made its debut as a civilian warbird in July of 2010 and first flew at Reno in 2019, qualifying at 10th place with an average speed of 437.277 miles per hour. In Heat 2C that year, Tumbling Goose finished in 2nd place, clocking a speed of 414.809 mph. The aircraft, painted a blazing color scheme of bright yellow and black, finished 1st in the 2021 Jet Bronze race with an average speed of 428.022 miles per hour."

About" "Red Thunder," race number 777, is an L-39MS that served as a military trainer for the Czechoslovak Air Force and then the Slovak Air Force. Transferred to the United States in 2000, it changed hands a number of times and underwent a series of upgrades and modifications in subsequent years in its operations as a red aggressor aircraft serving the United States Navy and Air Force. It is powered by a DV2 engine that produces up to 4,850 pounds of thrust and features modern avionics and hydraulic flight controls with dual independent hydraulic systems. Painted in a striking red, white, and silver pattern, Red Thunder first participated in the Reno Air Races in 2019. Qualifying in the Gold Race that year, it finished in 4th place with an average speed of 435.061 miles per hour."

AboutAn all round classic. Once in the cockpit you are transported back to the Cold War and on a mission! Visibility is limited, as it should be because there is no looking back in this purposeful warrior steed. Details such as the wing flex, spectacular afterburner and creaking sounds under high G-load all add to the atmosphere. Immensely pleasurable to fly, it is responsive to sensible inputs and predictable. Those who compare it to later generations of fly-by-wire aircraft are really missing the point! In my short time with the aircraft I have barely begun to explore the flight envelope and can't wait to find more time for it on the flight schedule. one treat in store will be recreating the "Edge of Space" flights which have been available to well heeled western tourists for some decades. GKS is earning a place in the MSFS eco-system as a reliable purveyor of Cold War Classics. 5 stars, no question about it.

About" "Mrs. Virginia" was originally assembled in 1943 by North American Aviation in Inglewood, California as a P-51A-10-NA and then served the United States Army Air Forces before being used as an instructional airframe at an aviation institute in Glendale, California for a number of years. The aircraft took the name Mrs. Virginia and the race number 13 after a restoration in 2006, which also applied classic United States Army Air Forces markings. In 2016 Mrs. Virginia finished in second place in Reno’s Unlimited Class, in the Silver race, with an average speed of 351.602 miles per hour."

About" "Bunny," race number 62, boasts a rich, fascinating lineage and a penchant for speed at Reno. It was constructed as a P-51D-30-NA in Inglewood, California by North American Aviation in July of 1945 for the Army Air Forces. Placed in storage, it eventually served the Royal Canadian Air Force beginning in 1951. The aircraft sustained some damage over the years, and changed hands until seeing a beautiful full restoration by its current owner, the Palm Springs Air Museum. Painted in the markings of the P-51 flown in World War II by Tuskegee Airman Lieutenant Colonel Bob Friend, Bunny clocked a speed of 333.562 miles per hour at Reno in 2018, and in 2021 it finished 6th in the Unlimited Silver race with a speed of 296.872 mph."

About" "Lady B," race number 41, came into existence on December 12, 1944 at North American Aviation’s Inglewood, California factory as a P-51D-30-NA bound for the U.S. Army Air Forces. Subsequent years saw it change hands a number of times. With a lineage of racing at Reno that dates to the 1960s, the airframe became “Lady B" in 2005. This beautiful war bird raced in Reno for the first time as Lady B in 2018, finishing 3rd place in the Silver Race with an average speed of 307.218 miles per hour. In 2021, Lady B placed 2nd in Unlimited Silver, with a blazing average speed of 317.043 miles per hour."

About" "ManO’War," a P-51D-25-NA, was built by North American Aviation in 1944 for the United States Army Air Forces. Subsequent to its military ownership, the airframe has been a war bird for its entire life, with few modifications. Considered one of the finest war birds in existence, ManO’War flies with the Commemorative Air Force and makes a number of appearances at air shows in flight and on the ground as a static display. In 2021, ManO’War finished 5th in the Unlimited Silver race with an average speed of 297.162 miles per hour."

About" "Miss America", race number 11, was built in 1945 as a P-51D-30-NA in Inglewood, California by North American Aviation. It served the American military until 1956, when it was placed into storage and subsequently sold. This beast first raced in 1963 (as “San Diego") and has never looked back since, with speeds topping 400 miles per hour. It first raced as “Miss America," number 11, in 1969. That same year it set a world speed record from Los Angeles to Washington, DC in 6 hours, 21 minutes—an average speed of 412 miles per hour! Miss America is a true rocket on the Reno course. In keeping in that spirit, Miss America qualified for the Unlimited Gold race in 2021."

About" "Spam Can / Dolly" was built in 1945 as a P-51D-30-NT by North American Aviation in Dallas, Texas. It spent the bulk of its military service with the Air National Guard, and was then sold as surplus out of McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, California in 1957. The airframe raced at Reno over the years under a few different names and race numbers, including Glamorous Glen III, Spirit of Phoenix, and Spam Can. In 2014, while still bearing the “Spam Can" marking, “Dolly" was added. In 2017, the aircraft finished in 2nd place in the Unlimited Silver race with an average sped of 335.506 miles per hour."

About" "Strega" was born in 1944 as a P-51D-20-NT at North American Aviation’s Dallas, Texas factory. Initially placed into service with the United States Army Air Forces, it was transferred in July of 1945 to the Royal Australian Air Force. Strega, the racer, almost never came to be—the airframe was stripped of components and discarded for disposal. Miraculously, the airframe made its way to British Columbia, Canada, and then to Van Nuys, California, where it was rebuilt as a racer in the early 1980s. Strega, race number 7, first competed at Reno in 1983. In the subsequent decades, this beautiful speed machine with its distinctive red and white colors has built a loyal following due to its power and presence."

AboutAcquired this in December 2022 and I am really enjoying it. The virtual cockpit scales nicely with my physical cockpit and it gives a really most immersive "you are there" feeling to the whole experience.

Nice and EZ, which sports an eye-catching red-and-white color scheme, features an upgraded airfoil design and four ailerons. The top two ailerons are directly linked to the bottom set, which are directly connected to the pilot’s stick. This arrangement makes Nice and EZ a highly maneuverable machine, which is critical for pulling out of wake turbulence. In 2021, Nice and EZ placed fourth in the Biplane Silver race, with a speed of 148.567 miles per hour."

About" "Second Hand," race number 66, is a Pitts S-1C that made its debut at Reno in 2018 where it immediately made an impact, finishing in third place in the Biplane Gold race with an average speed of 202.176 miles per hour. The aircraft sports a distinctive look with a white paint job, black wheel pants, and a number of modifications for speed including clipped wings. Second Hand, a reference to the second hand of a clock, looks built for speed, and it proves it, qualifying for the 2021 Biplane Gold race."

About" "Panther," race number 84 was originally built as an S-1E (homebuilt) in 1985 and then upgraded to a “Wolf Pitts" in 2014, featuring enlarged control surfaces, rod landing gear, and carbon fiber cowling. Panther made its debut at Reno in 2015 and has raced at the event in 2017, 2019, and 2021. The aircraft had recorded some impressive speeds, including 185.041 miles per hour in 2017. It has since been upgraded further. In 2021, Panther placed 2nd in Biplane Silver, clocking an average speed of 173.464 miles per hour."

About"Blackhawk, race number 33, is a visually arresting, red and white biplane that made its debut at the Reno Air Races in 2015 where it clocked an impressive average speed of 187.297 miles per hour and placed second in the Biplane Silver race. Blackhawk took second place in the Biplane Silver race two more times, in 2016 and 2018. The aircraft features an original fuselage with a number of hand-made modifications to its engine, wings, and empennage and is a deft flyer to its unique combination of modifications."

About"A modern racing legend forged at the pylons of the Reno Air Races over decades, “Miss Dianne," race number 6, proves time and time again to be a stellar force in the world of high-speed biplanes. Painted a vibrant color scheme consisting primarily of blue and yellow, this Pitts Special S-1S was originally certified airworthy on August 11, 1988. About" "TangoTango," race number 31, is a Pitts S-1 constructed in 1979. The aircraft first competed at Reno in 2003, where it had its highest clocked average speed of 162.483 miles per hour. In the years since, it’s competed in Bronze, Silver, and Gold races. About" "The Yellow Bomber," race number 69, is a Pitts S-1S originally built in 1975 that made its racing debut at Reno in 2018. In 2019, The Yellow Bomber placed second in the Biplane Silver race with an average speed of 178.014 miles per hour. The aircraft, which boasts a specialized set of upgrades called “T mods," has competed a total of three times at Reno."

About" "Toto," race number 29, is a Pitts S-2A originally manufactured in June of 1978, and has built a long history as a training aircraft in places that include Nebraska, Florida, and even Guam. Toto qualified in 2016 with a speed of 153.061 miles per hour and competed in the Biplane Silver race, finishing eighth. While Toto has raced, its most notable—and ongoing and enduring—achievement is one of training, as it is used at Reno to teach rookies pylon flying and as a checkout airplane for single-place biplane racers."

About" "Smokin’ Hot," Race number 3, is a sleek-looking and fast flying Pitts that in 2016, the first year racing under that name, qualified for Reno’s Biplane Gold race and finished seventh with a blazing average speed of 195.113 miles per hour. That wasn’t even its top 2016 speed, however – during Heat 3A, Smokin’ Hot clocked an average speed of 196.872 mph. This beautiful beast, painted brilliant red with white lines and accents, features a number of customizations. These include clipped wings (by three feet) that are squared off, a sleek canopy, and engine optimizations. Smokin’ Hot uses a racing propeller that has a high fixed pitch and a diameter that is smaller than used for aerobatics. This allows the airplane, once “spun up" to attain speeds like 203.215 miles per hour, as the airplane did in 2016 during the Biplane qualifying round. In 2021, Smokin’ Hot qualified for the coveted Biplane Gold race."

About"The RV-10 is a single-engine, low-wing, homebuilt kit monoplane by Van’s Aircraft of the United States. A four-seat version of their successful RV line, it took its maiden flight on May 29, 2003, and kit deliveries began in September of 2003. About" "Big Red," Race Number 5, is a bold and beautiful SNJ-4 that began its service life as a trainer for the United States Navy and has since wowed crowds at Stead for decades up to the present. The airframe first raced at Reno in 1972 as “Miss Eufaula" and then later as “Red Baron." It began roaring around the pylons as “Big Red," Race 5, in 1981, and has since proven one of the most consistent participants in the event. Big Red has also built an impressive record of wins, placing 1st in the Silver Race in 1995, 1996, 2005, 2006, 2012, 2013, and 2014. A crowd favorite, the aircraft is painted distinctively bright red with white accents."

About" "Gotcha!," Race Number 9, came into the world in 1942 as an AT-6D and served the United States Army Air Forces as a trainer. It was rebuilt as an SNJ-5 in 1960 for use by U.S. Navy aviators-in-training. The airframe began its Reno tenure in 1968, as Race 9, “Cum’n Thru!" Two years later, still #9, it competed as “Gotcha!" In 1974, Gotcha! finished in 1st place in the Championship Race, clocking an average speed of 211.35 miles per hour. Race 9 changed names a number of times since its 1974 win, returning to Gotcha! in 2016, the name it retains today."

About" "Radial Velocity," Race Number 88, began its life as an AT-6D-NT at North American Aviation’s Dallas, Texas plant in 1942. It briefly served the Army Air Forces and then the Navy for 17 years as a trainer before private ownership. Its career at Reno started in 1988, as Race Number 20. In 2007, the airframe began flying as #28, Radial Velocity. That year it took 1st place in the Bronze Race, with an average speed of 217.027 miles per hour. In 2008 it won 1st in Silver with a speed of 224.101 mph. 2017 saw Radial Velocity take 1st in the Gold Race, clocking a speed of 225.470 miles per hour. In 2021, the racer took 2nd in T-6 Gold, averaging a velocity of 228.205 mph."

Initially assigned to the U.S. military, it served the Brazilian Air Force until the mid 1970s. Brought into the United States in 1993, it first raced the pylons at Reno in 2019 after a number of transfers of ownership. Emblazoned in livery commemorating U.S. Naval aviation, it finished 2nd in the Bronze race that year, clocking an average speed of 193.846 miles per hour."

About" "Six Cat," Race Number 6, was an AT-6 that served the U.S. Army Air Forces in the 1940s. In 1949 it was remanufactured as a T-6G by North American Aviation in Downy, California and used by the Air Force. It first raced at Reno in 1986, and has been a regular ever since. It’s list of 1st place wins is impressive, including topping the Gold Race in 1999, 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009, and 2012. The highest speed ever clocked by Six Cat was set when it took 1st place in the qualifying round in 2016, a blistering 251.792 miles per hour."

About"Built by North American Aviation as an AT-6 in the 1940s, the airframe that would become “Undecided," Race Number 90, was remanufactured in 1953 as a T-6G and served the United States Air Force. The airplane debuted at Reno as Undecided, Race #90, in 1990 after years of restoration. In 1991, it took first place in the Silver Race with an average speed of 223.165 miles per hour. It took 1st in Silver again in 1993, 2010, and 2019. In its years at Reno, the aircraft has participated in a total of 12 Gold Races, 12 Silver, and 2 Bronze."

AboutNot having flown the Tornado since Tornado by Digital Integration in 1993, seeing the India Foxt Echo set my pulse racing. Anywho, life intervened for a while in 2024 and finally at Xmas I was ready to lay down the dollars. Having published several hundred videos in IFT’s MB-339, then their F-35 and M-346, there is no doubt in my mind that this will be a solid and stable aircraft with real atmoshpere. Watch this space!

AboutFun to fly, with the usual quirks peculiar to tail-draggers, and with a few attractive liveries, this is a solid performer. There must be a market for more WWII birds, where are they? Kudos to Deimos for getting the ball rolling early with MSFS 2020.
